ABOUT THE SHELTER
Opened in 1982, The Hoboken Shelter is a community partnership that transforms lives by providing meals for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, and services to support people to become housed. These programs help our homeless guests develop the skills needed to gain employment, achieve independence, and reintegrate into the community.
We are working to end homelessness one person at a time. In 2023 we:
- Overall, moved 145 Guests into their own homes
- Paid security deposits for 73 guests (through the Campaign for Housing Justice)
- Moved 42 guests, including 6 veterans, into homes through the Permanent Supportive Housing Program
- Served 15,000 more meals than we did in 2022
- Saw a 2,000+ increase in guests participating in our skills development workshops
You can see your donations in action in our 2023 Impact Report.
